Solution

Several studies show that low intensity pulsed ultrasound greatly benefits bone formation. We intend to apply that knowledge to solve the specific problem of osteopenia in space.

Our solution is to design and build a device, which emits low intensity pulsed ultrasound waves. A prototype is currently being developed. After testing and proof of concept, our goal is to optimize the device, so that it will be small and portable, preferably integrated into clothing or self-adhesive. It will operate on battery power to maximize portability and ease of use. It will be hypoalergenic, intended for daily use. Lastly, it will be inexpensive and accessible to general public.
